Help Connellsville Township by recycling! You can make a difference!
In 2020 Connellsville Township was awarded a recycling grant through the DEP (Department of Environmental Protection). The grant has enabled the Township to purchase a new leaf vac and truck.
In the near future Connellsville Township will be purchasing much needed new recycling bins for residents. The new equipment is helping the Township to work more efficiently and in a timely manner.
Our goal is to see our recycling numbers Increase. By recycling you are saving energy, conserving raw materials, reducing landfill space and recycling is great for the environment.

- Car and Light Truck Tires
- Plastics No.1 ·7 Household Plastics
- Aluminum Cans
- Aluminum Foil
- Corrugated Cardboard (broken down and placed in bin)
- Newsprint and Inserts
- Office Paper
- Steel Cans
- Phone Books
- Paperback Books
- Junk Mail and Envelopes
- Magazines and Catalogs
- Pizza boxes·- Empty
- Boxboard: such as tissue,dry food boxes, cereal, noodles and cake boxes
Not Recyclable Items
Aerosol cans, batteries, clothing, furniture, carpet, electronics, hangers, medical waste, non-glass containers (pyrex, vases, glassware, windows, or mirrors), polystyrene foam cups and containers, propane cylinders, wood and construction debris, and plastic bags.

- The township has a tire dumpster available for residents use and will accept scrap metal.
- Beginning in January 2025 a separate bin for plastic bag recycling will be available. Plastic bags MUST be recycled separately.
